- 01Aftercare for substance use or mental health support, also known as continuing care, extended care, or post-treatment support, refers to the ongoing support and resources provided to individuals after they have completed formal addiction treatment. Aftercare is vital because it provides ongoing support, relapse prevention strategies, and a structured environment that helps individuals transition from treatment back into their daily lives while reducing the risk of relapse.
- 02Firstly, congratulations! And yes its likely you would benefit from aftercare. Skyline provides ongoing support and relapse prevention strategies that can help continue momentum created in primary treatment, and assist in maintain long-term sobriety. We require that our clients have completed primary treatment, so you would be in good company!
- 03Program length varies, but averages 7 months. We request a minimum commitment of 4 months to have the opportunity to create a strong foundation for sustained recovery.
- 04Skyline focuses on coaching, therapy, group discussions, and community building activities aimed at addressing personal challenges, triggers, and coping strategies for maintaining sobriety. After an initial period of adjustment, clients begin to add in school or work, as they individualize their schedules.
- 05Yes, we do allow clients to have their phones when they arrive.
- 06Typically transitional aftercare is not covered by insurance. Skyline is private pay, and does not bill to insurance. We can provide a superbill for the clinical components that can be submitted for reimbursement. Please contact us to talk about tuition cost and payment options.
- 07We are not solely 12-step based, however, we do ask our clients to pick a program or support group (12-step, SMART, etc.) and attend 2 outside meetings per week at minimum.
- 08We're a comprehensive program covering clinical, psychiatric coordination, recovery coaching, family systems work, life-skills, and residential housing. Clients have the opportunity to add their own scheduling as they add work or school to their routine.

- 11We specialize in Extended Care or Transitional Treatment for Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders for men aged 18-35. Most Skyline clients have previously participated in a version of primary treatment or wilderness therapy program prior to working with our team, and have a minimum of 30 days of sobriety. We do not work with individuals actively trying to harm themselves or others, have unmanaged thought disorders, those who are medically unstable or non-compliant, or registered sex offenders.
- 12Through our admissions process, we ask a client about their commitment to sobriety, and willingness to be involved in our community. Aftercare can be a new concept to families and clients, so we leave room for healthy contemplation, however we want clients to be at a place where they are ready and willing to walk a path of recovery and sobriety while they are with us.
- 13The mission of Skyline Recovery is to tailor a transitional living program to our clients individual needs: There will be no cookie-cutter approaches used, and every young man who enters will have a unique experience all their own. We will ensure that they plug into the local recovery community and develop a foundation to support their sobriety. At the same time, we will work closely with each of our clients to set goals for transitioning back into school, work, and ultimately living an authentic life. We believe that group and community support is essential, but that intensive one-on-one therapeutic mentoring is critical to reach a point where they are truly thriving. Put simply, our goal is to move our clients from the cycle of one treatment center after another, and get them engaged in the sober and meaningful lives they are capable of.
- 14Like everything we do, medication is overseen on an individual basis. Clients hold their own medications, with oversight and support in the routine of taking them. Our goal with each client is to have them stable on manageable doses and medications prior to leaving. Generally, we will not allow Amphetamines or Benzodiazepines, specifically due to the risk they pose for other members of our community.
- 15Skyline was created out of a recognition for the importance of clinical focus in recovery. We use cutting edge clinical modalities, that typically focus on underlaying trauma and attachment disruptions that can be prevalent in substance misuse. We offer Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, Group Therapy and Psychiatric Coordination. Modalities Include: Trauma & Attachment Focused Therapy; EMDR and Brainspotting. Individualized Addiction Recovery Planning, Somatic Experiencing, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral & Narrative Therapies, Family Therapy & Coaching Mindfulness, Meditation & Yoga, Wilderness Experiential Therapy.
- 16We have a zero-tolerance policy on substance use, and we will administer random UA’s an average of 1-2 times per week. Testing positive for drugs or alcohol will lead to immediate discharge from Skyline Recovery. Staff will continue to work with the client for 48-hours off-site to ensure that alternative options are put into place, or to determine if a return is possible. Our only goal is to help a client thrive, and the rules of Skyline Recovery are in place to protect the healing environment it offers. We will not sacrifice the health of the community for one individual.
- 17Absolutely. We recognize the importance of involving loved ones in the recovery process. We offer weekly family calls, parent coaching, in-person workshops, and monthly group calls.
